A New Tea for Two!

We are proud to present the latest in our pregnancy and postpartum tea series: Sweet Nectar Milk Blend. A tea to support breastfeeding, Sweet Nectar Milk Blend combines of galactagogue, nutritious, and nervine herbs.  Sweet Nectar Milk Blend encourages the production of milk by stimulating milk flow, providing the body with nutrients, and calming and relaxing mama by supporting the nervous system.

For breast feeding success, we always encourage new families to seek advice and guidance for proper breastfeeding techniques from a midwife or lactation consultant.  Learning how to breastfeed correctly will be the first and biggest benefit to successfully breastfeeding.

A Tea for Each Trimester: Herbal Tea Blends for Pregnancy

Consistency is good – and consistent variety even better!  When I began to create a blend to support the needs of a growing pregnant body, I created birthed three.  Triplets!  While each tea can be enjoyed at any time during your pregnancy, I crafted them to build upon each other and to address specific issues that tend to happen during different parts of pregnancy.  Budding pays special attention to building up nutrients in the body and relieving morning sickness.  Blooming brings in herbs that are especially strengthening and tonifying to the uterus, as well as calming herbs like Chamomile, to regulate and sustain energy levels.  Blossoming continues to tonify the uterus and also includes herbs to help bring milk and the development of colostrum.

Rhythm of Strength: Raspberry Leaf

Brambles above the door for protection and eating the fruit for love, the Raspberry plant seems to fulfill many needs in the myths told of its powers.  Today the use of the Raspberry plant continues to be multi-faceted as a rich and nutritious herb that is tonifying to body and spirit.

Strengthening the body with special attention to the uterus, Raspberry leaf is an herb for those who are looking to get back into their rhythm, moving with the cycles of the body towards health.

The Tides of the Moon – Herbs for Heavy Menstruation

A full moon sat round in our sky just a few evenings ago.  As the moon waxes and wanes, our human bodies ebb and flow, mirroring its cycle.  Those who menstruate can find themselves especially sensitive to the cycles of the moon.  Or not at all.  There is not a single, definitive menstrual experience – though it would seem that our mainstream media attempts to define one all the time (“Oh no!  Not your period!  How will you ever have a social life?!  It will embarrass you!”).  Many times advertisements for menstrual products propose a “solution” to menstruation which usually involves being able to pay less attention to it.  I feel that just as when we pay better attention to our breath we are able to breathe better and when we are more mindful of our menstrual cycles we are able to bleed better.
